What type of music do you listen to?
Honestly, it’s a pretty wide list…I usually listen to anything with a good feel and energy to it, especially songs that make you want to dance. Some of my go to’s are Hip Hop, R&B, Top 40’s, Classic Pop Rock and Soul. And the new records with good feels like Afrobeats, Reggaeton and Club are some of my favorites too.

What do you enjoy most about being a DJ?
As a DJ there’s a moment during the event where you know you have the crowd in a great place. Meaning, you’re taking them on a journey throughout the night and you can take them through different peaks and they will go wherever you want them to go. Songs they love right now, mixed with songs that take them back to their childhood…it’s about guests and clients leaving the event with a memorable experience. I love getting to that moment in the evening.

Best DJ Moment?
I’m lucky to say that I have a few, but a favorite was Doing for Cirque Du Soleil on their Opening night After Party. The best part about it was looking up and seeing a sea of people dancing and singing to every song for a good hour and a half. The room was really diverse, people of all ages and different walks of life. They came to see the show, but they stayed because of the music and so many people were having a good time. That was special!

DJ Marcus has been playing everything from Top 40, Hip Hop, R&B, Afro Beats, Pop and more since HS. A trained Drummer and proclaimed music aficionado there’s no Dancefloor Marcus can’t get started. Being a Music Lover, I listen to everything, from Pop, Hip Hop, Afrobeats, EDM and more. There aren’t too many days when the hits aren’t in my playlist rotation.

The BEST DJ Moment…. has to be opening the Dancefloor. Just the right song at just the right time and seeing that reaction is priceless!

When I’m not head 1st into the music, I’m outside, spending time with friends, exploring the city, and always looking to create the next experience!

Best DJ Moment ?
I was once DJ’n a large Wedding, with a HUGE Wedding party, about 26 people total. Well half way through the evening they all broke out into a full fledged synchronized dance. It was completely unexpected and everybody LOVED it. It took the reception to a new level for the rest of the evening!
