Finding the Perfect DJ for a MultiCultural Wedding

We live in a time where people of all backgrounds are able to get married and celebrate the coming together of two different cultures. However, often times when a couple is trying to bring two different cultures together they must combine their taste for food, family traditions, and most importantly music style for their big day. So how can you ensure that the music on your wedding day is a direct reflection of those two cultures and families coming together to become one. Well here are a few tips on Finding the Perfect DJ for a MultiCultural Wedding!

1. Ensure your DJ has experience working Multicultural Weddings

One important factor when it comes to receiving any type of service is level of experience. Not every DJ will be able to handle any situation thrown at them with professionalism while also producing a high quality service. If having great music for your multicultural wedding is very important to you then ensure that you hire a DJ that is experienced in that area. Ask questions about their history and experience, read reviews, get professional referrals, make sure your DJ knows how multicultural weddings work so that you get exactly what you want for your big day.

2. Come up with a list of about 30 songs

So, your DJ has experience working various events right? Great! But now, give your DJ a list of about 20 to 30 songs that you know each side of the family will like. Some may be traditional or just may be great songs that you know from experience that your family likes. Once the DJ has that list, they should build the remainder of the evening around those, but at least they have those GO To songs to play to get things going and get your families on the dancefloor.

3. Communicate your vision with your DJ

When it comes to having a good relationship with your wedding vendor’s communication is key! Every detail, no matter how big or how small does matter. It is very important that you let your DJ know what exactly it is you and your fiancé are looking for. Tell them a little about where you both come from and what type of music you want to hear at your wedding. Culturally speaking, it is very important to ensure that your DJ understands that your guests will be from a mixture of backgrounds and cultures all of which you want to have represented on your big day.
